“He who is outside his door already has the hardest part of his journey behind him.” — Dutch proverb

The last three months packing up, certainly has proved much tougher than I thought it would be so it should all be easy from here… Today we fly to Brisbane, overnight with David’s sister and family before heading out from Coolangatta Airport via Air Asia Sunday night. It was not a very auspicious start however, when the Qantas flight departing Mackay was 3 hours late but with their $15 credit per person we were able to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Thanks to those who came to wish us a final bon voyage!
The most common question asked in the week leading up to our departure has been “Are you excited?” To which I replied “not yet, too much yet to do, think about…, but wait until I get on that plane”. Now that I am on it I still don’t feel excitement but relief that the hardest part (?) is over and that the journey can begin… and overwhelming exhaustion. We did it.

Hi Nicola, I miss you too and I’m having fun seeing lots of interesting things. I’m going to send you a postcard but it might take quite a while to get to you.
I have a joke for you:
Why is six afraid of seven?
Because seven eight nine.
