So many choices, how do we whittle it down ….

Firstly I looked at where we get the biggest ‘bang’ for our buck, and that’s always Asia and India so we decided to start there.  As we have travelled quite extensively in Asia before having spent time in Indonesia, Malaysia including Borneo, Vietnam, Philippines, China we thought we would start in Thailand as it has been over 10 years since we were there last,  then into  Cambodia back to Thailand before overlanding to Laos before we fly to India – three countries we have not been to before.

After that we may go to Turkey (it has been nearly twenty years since I have visited Turkey and I loved it then so would like David to see it too)  then over the border into Bulgaria for a white Christmas.  When I lived in London I spent a couple of summers in Europe but never got further east than Czechoslovakia and Hungary so I am looking forward to seeing the more Eastern European countries of Bulgaria, Croatia before possibly going into Europe (Germany or France).  After a bit of time in Europe we are hoping to head over to the States to get to Mexico and then Central America for some months before the flight home.

We are buying the tickets as we go this time – as opposed to the ’round the world ticket’ purely because we don’t know exactly where we want to go so want to remain flexible and the amount of low cost carriers can get you into the most amazing places we are sure we won’t have any trouble finding our way … we left home with only two sectors purchased…
